OK. I promise not to turn this blog into a vendetta against an individual player or a bitch session. That said, I do need to vent about Edgar Renteria a bit. He once again turned in quite a game last night, finally ending an 0 for 20 stretch with a dribbler up the middle. Congrats. Well done. Too bad he failed twice more with runners in scoring position. His average has now plummeted to .266, and his on base percentage is at .293. On top of that, he’s striking out at a 17% clip and he’s grounded into double plays in an amazing 4.5% of his at bats.
Oh, and his error in the bottom of the 8th led directly to the game losing run.
I wonder how the kid that we traded to Atlanta for him is doing?
