Big win for the Tigers last night. Yes, we blew a big lead and the starting pitching and bullpen looked rough. But a win is a win, and yes, there may be a light at the end of the tunnel. After this weekend, we will be finished with both the Red Sox and the Yankees for the season.
And while we’re on the topic of making excuses for a terrible start of the season, this schedule has been brutal. Seriously, look who we’ve played; White Sox (2 series), Indians, Red Sox (2 series), Yankees (2 series), Twins (2 series) and Angels, with only one series with the Rangers and Royals respectively. That’s wicked tough by any standard.
Also, We appear to be getting healthier. Sheffield looked very good last night, with 3 hits and a walk. And it turns out we might have a Chet Lemon after all (thanks Polly).
Keep the faith fans. I’m predicting better times ahead. DetTigers curse be damned.
Yes, I agree. The schedule has been brutal. Luckily for us, Brandon Inge was already gearing up for the next series by sitting one out last night. The fact that Leyland allows him to rest whenever he needs it is fantastic – which seems to be quite often. Because, after all, he rules.
