Young Tiger shortstop prospect Cale Iorg is tearing up Lakeland. “He looks like a 40 year old man… from 1952.” Quipped Tiger correspondent Dave Bergman. Adding, ”he hits the hell out of the ball, and he’s hung like a Moscow Mule.”
“Olde man Cale,” as he is affectionately referred to, is batting .308 with three home runs. Contrary to reports, Cale does not use Brylcreem to achieve that classic 50’s style, stating defiantly, “I’m a Vitalis man!”

I heard from a friend of mine who lives near Lakeland that the real story is his on base percentage, which is off the charts. Apparently he gets hit by a lot of pitches, upon which he lets out a guttural scream that dissapates into a sinister laugh as he takes his base and stares the pitcher down. Not a hair out of place.
